ELGIN, TX–NOVEMBER 7, 2025–The Texas Quarter Horse Association (TQHA) has announced that the next payment for the 2026 Texas Breeders Futurity is due on Monday, November 17, 2025. The payment amount is $500.
According to TQHA Director of Racing Scott Sherwood, the due date was adjusted to November 17 since the 15th falls on a Saturday. All mailed payments must be postmarked on or before November 17 to remain eligible.
Participants who plan to use funds from their Texas Horsemen’s Partnership (THP) account are reminded that if they are using money from their THP Horsemen’s account for a payment, they MUST contact .. Read More

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—NOVEMBER 8, 2025— Under clear skies and a strong 16-mph tailwind, Set On Cruise surged late to capture the $97,685 Texas Hero Futurity (G1) for 2-year-old Paints and Appaloosas at Lone Star Park.
The bay filly, by leading APHA sire CRM Livewire out of Lindys Sign by Second Painted Sign, stopped the clock in 19.627 seconds with a 95 speed index on a fast track.
Ridden by Bryan Candanosa for owners and breeders Dan and Kaye Jones, and trained by Matt Whitekiller, Set On Cruise vied throughout before edging clear late to win by a neck, earning the winner’s share of $37,120.
