BOSQUE, NM—JUNE 17, 2012—Double LL Farms announced this week their leading sire Chicks A Blazin has been euthanized following complications from laminitis.
Owned by Mike Abraham, the son of leading sire Chicks Beduino was a stakes-placed earner of $27,814 finishing second in the 1995 West Texas Futurity(G1) in only two career starts.
In 14 crops to race, Chicks A Blazin sired 236 winners, 22 stakes winners, 26 stakes-placed earners of $11,330,643, with average earnings per starter of more than $24,500. Among this get were Lou Wooten Handicap(RG1) winner Blazin N Shakin ($635,335), Senor Futurity(RG3) winner Chicks Goes Steppin ($496,198), Zia Futurity(RG1) winner Call Me A Blazin ($403,535 to 3, 2012), Shue Fly Stakes(RG1) winner Dpi Good Boy ($288,290), New Mexico Classic Futurity(R) winner Blazin Perfection ($255,640), New Mexico HBA Stakes(R) winner Blazin Nights ($241,021), etc.
Joe Muniz bred the gray stallion in California from the Requested Rocket mare Forthe Loveofhoney. He stood his entire career at W.L. Mooring's Double LL Farms near Bosque.
