Breaking her maiden in the trials, This Fire Is Cold won the 13th trial on Friday. In her previous career starts, the filly finished fifth in her March 29 trial for the Sam Houston Futurity (G2) and second in her May 10 trial for the Heritage Place Futurity (G1).

An earner of $94,280, Walk Thru Fire in 1999 ran in the finals of the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Million Futurity (now the Two Millon Futurity) and the Golden State Futurity. The 17-year-old son of world champion and all-time leading sire First Down Dash out of the graded stakes-placed Beduino (TB) mare Sweet Beduino ($21,824) has sired five champions, 39 other stakes winners, 322 other winners and the earners of more than $19.23 million from 598 starters in 10 crops raced.

A Grade 1-winning earner of $522,915, This Snow Is Cold set a :16.631 track record going 330 yards in the 2004 Harrah’s Ladies Day Stakes at Louisiana Downs. The 13-year-old mare by This Snow Is Royal has produced six winners and the earners of more than $150,000 from seven starters, including the stakes-placed Corona Cartel mare This Corona Is Cold ($65,352), who was third in the 2010 Rainbow Futurity (G1).

Since 2003, Los Ladrilleros Horse Racing Co. of Houston, Texas, has bred seven winners and the earners of more than $165,000 from 12 starters, including Alejandro Moya’s stakes-placed mare This Corona Is Cold.
