 Guillory, Lyle and Soileau, John
Owner

The colt is owned in partnership by Lyle Guillory and John Soileau. Soileau and Lyle’s father, Chris, were longtime friends and always hoped to race a horse together, but unfortunately Chris passed away before that could happen. When Soileau thought about breeding his stakes-winning mare Do It To It Reb to Corona Cartel, Lyle, who had a breeding to the stallion, agreed to partner with him.

“He’s got an unbelievable disposition,” Soileau said of the resulting colt. “Very smart horse. … He don’t get excited.”

Tee Cos is named in honor of Carl. Both Carl and John were boxers in southern Louisiana, and "Tee Cos" was Carl’s nickname. Roughly translated, it means "big punch."

PEDIGREE
Tee Cos - Tee Cos romped to a two-length win in Trial 15, earning a :21.156 time and the third-fastest qualifying time.

Bred by John Soileau’s JLS-Speed Horse Ranch Inc., a family-run operation based in Opelousas, Louisiana. Together they’ve sent out the earners of more than $2.3 million. Their runners include champion JLS Mr Bigtime, Restricted Grade 2 winner Get It Reb, and Ms Pilot Point, who would go on to produce 2010 All American Futurity (G1) winner Mr Piloto. Last year they would send out JLS Mr Bigtime to a narrow nose loss in the All American Futurity.
