First-Crop Sire Kj Mucho Macho Man Gets First Winner, Two Stakes Finalists

SEGUIN, TX–MARCH 17, 2024–First-crop sire Kj Mucho Macho Man had a big weekend at Sunland Park Race Track and Casino, siring his first winner and two stakes finalist from trials contested Saturday and Sunday for the $311,400 West Texas Futurity(G2), the $150,000 New Mexico Spring Futurity.

On Sunday the Grade 1 son of leading sire Apollitical Jess sired his first winner Skinnthatsmokewagon in the 11th of 12 trials for the West Texas Futurity(G2). Under jockey Noe Garcia, Jr., the gelding clocked :15.405 seconds, to get the eighth fastest clocking.

Trainer Wesley Giles conditions Skinnthatsmokewagon for Jill Giles. Kevin Birrell bred the gelding from the Foose mare Bf Fooserageous.

On Saturday Kj Majcho Man sired Two Macho For You who qualified for the $50,000 New Mexican Spring Fling. Also trained by Giles, the gelding out of Tiramisu For Two by Wagon Tales. He is a homebred for owner-breeder Ezra Lee. Larry Marques was aboard.

Finals for both the West Texas Futurity(G2) and New Mexican Spring Fling will run back on Saturday, April 6.

Owned by the Kj Mucho Macho Man Syndicate, Kj Mucho Macho Man is a Grade 1 placed earner of $293,474.  He is out of Rainbow Futurity(G1) winner Wild Six by Tres Seis

He is the #1 freshman sire of stakes qualifiers and the #1 freshman siring son of leading sire Apollitical Jess.
