Grade 2 Winner Chilitos To Dunn Ranch In Oklahoma For 2024

WYNNEWOOD, OK–OCTOBER 14, 2023–Grade 2 Dash For Cash Futurity winner Chilitos has moved to Dunn Ranch in Wynnewood, Oklahoma for the 2024 season. His fee has been set at $5,000.

The 6-year-old son of leading sire Apollitical Jess first foals will race in 2024.

His first sale crop this year saw 30 of 39 yearlings sold for gross receipts of $551,200, a $14,133 average and $16,000 median.

"We’re really excited to have a son of Apolitical Jess on our stallion roster. Chilitos pedigree is second to none and with the great response to his yearlings at the summer sales he should have a great first year in 2024," Dunn Ranch owner Matt Dunn said today.

"We are very excited for his future in Oklahoma and we want to thank his owners for giving Dunn Ranch the opportunity to promote this great young sire," he added.

Racing for owners Anna and Omar Parades, the Oklahoma homebred won the Dash For Cash Futurity(G2), was second in the Texas Classic Futurity(G1) and Southwest Juvenile Invitational Championship(G2). He was also a finalist in the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Derby(G2). He won or placed in nine of 11 career starts and banked $437,909.

Chilitos' sire, world champion Apollitical Jess SI 107 ($1,399,831), is the leading sire of money earners again in 2023 with 23 stakes winners in $6.7 million dollars through October 12.

In ten crops to race, Apollitical Jess has sired 658 winners, 233 black type (24%), earners of over $64 million and average earnings over $66,000.

Chilitos' dam is the stakes-placed track-record setting Game Patriot mare Mary Me Anna SI 111 ($48,158). She set a Gillespie County Fairground new track record for 220 yards in :11.682 seconds. Mary Me Anna is the dam of three foals t o race, 2 ROM including Dash For Cash Futurity(G2) winner Chilitos (see above).

The second dam is the Grade 1-placed Tres Seis mare Romancing Mary SI 103 ($163,294, 2nd Sam Houston Futurity-G1, etc.), dam of 13 ROM, 11 winners, 2 black type including champion and leading second-crop sire Kiss My Hocks SI 109 ($1,199,385), and Mary Me Anna SI 111 (see above).
