BOSSIER CITY, LA–MARCH 25, 2023–The coverage of the 2023 Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) weekend at Louisiana Downs included the 2023 $339,046 Louisiana Downs Futurity(G3) at 300-yards.

The Santiago Villaseca-trained gelding, Chendo, came out the trials for the Grade 3 futurity as the fastest qualifier in a time of :15.715 for the 300-yard trial. The RC Me Leaving You gelding, out of the Stoli mare named Ms Otoole, was a $5,500 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate of 2022.

The impressive 2-year-old fired at the start under jockey Eleazar Hernandez to win by half-a-length in a time of :15.460 seconds, earning a 98 speed index.
