HOUSTON, TX—JANUARY 29, 2019—Sustaining payments for the 2019 Grade 2 $100,000-added Sam Houston Futurity and the Grade 3 $35,000-added Sam Houston Derby, to be held at Sam Houston Race Park, are due Friday, January 2.

Quarter Horse foals of 2017 must pay a $400 sustaining payment to remain eligible to nominate to the $450,000-est. 330 yard Sam Houston Futurity by Friday (Feb. 1). Trials will be contested Saturday, April 13 and the finals will be run back on Friday May 3.

Horsemen and women can also pay $500 plus all fees ($1,100) by February 1 to late pay their 2-year-olds into the 2019 Sam Houston Futurity.

Quarter Horse foals of 2016 must pay a $400 sustaining payment by Friday (Feb. 1) to remain eligible to the $200,000-est. 350 yard Sam Houston Derby. Trials will be contested Friday, April 12 and the finals will be run back on Friday May 3.

Late payments for 3-year-olds into the Sam Houston Derby can also be made by Friday (Feb. 1), for $500 plus all fees ($1,100).

Checks should be made to the "Name of Race (Sam Houston Futurity or Sam Houston Derby)" and mailed (with a signed and completed late nominations form if needed), postmarked no later than February 1, 2019, to Sam Houston Race Park, Racing Office Attn: (Name of Race), 7575 N.
