OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—JANUARY 31, 2012—Just one morning after horsemen and their athletes began moving into the Remington Park stable area, the main track was open for the first day of training. Circle Ur Wagons posted the first official workout by an American Quarter Horse in preparation for the upcoming 2012 season that begins March 2.

Owned by Joe Morgan of Scott City, Kan. and trained by Pat Swan of Jones, Okla., Circle Ur Wagons moved 220 yards in 13.01 seconds, labeled a breeze by Remington Park Clocker Vicky Grothaus.

Circle Ur Wagons, a 3-year-old Oklahoma-bred gelding by Pyc Paint Your Wagon from the Royal Quick Dash mare Quick Talkin Hostess, enters the upcoming season as a maiden after finishing second or third in half of his eight races last year. He competed twice at Remington Park in April 2011, finishing out of the money in both attempts, with his career debut in a trial for the Remington Park Futurity.

The initial set of schooling, or training, races for the season is set for Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 11:30am.

The 2012 American Quarter Horse & Mixed-breed Season at Remington Park will begin on Friday, March 2 as Opening Weekend continues thru Sunday, March 4. Scheduled post times for the Opening Weekend programs will be 6pm on Friday and Saturday, March 2 and 3 with afternoon racing on Sunday, March 4 at 1:30pm.

Open daily at 10am for casino gaming and simulcast racing, Remington Park also features the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor. Admission, general parking and valet parking are always free at Remington Park.
