LEXINGTON, KY—JANUARY 27, 2012—The RTCA Board of Directors has named retiring U.S. Army Chaplain (Col.) Craig Wiley as its new executive director, beginning in April.
Chaplain Wiley is an ordained minister of the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. He has served in the United States Army since 1969, with nineteen months in the Republic of Vietnam. Wiley has served in the Army's Chaplain Corps since 1973.
Chaplain Wiley holds a Bachelor of Religious Education degree from Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids, MI and Master of Religious Education and Master of Divinity degree’s from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary, Grand Rapids, MI. He also holds a Master of Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College, Carlisle, PA.
A horseman and pleasure rider, Wiley and wife Jean reside in Atlanta, GA, and will be relocating to Lexington, KY. He will assume executive directorship duties in April of this year.
“RTCA has provided tremendous ministry to the horseracing industry for over 40 years,” Wiley said. “It’s an honor to be selected as the next executive director, and my experience from the military chaplaincy provides the right background for this new opportunity. Jean and I look forward to our move to Lexington and making new friends.”
