Ruidoso Sale Topper Returns To MJ Farms for 2019

VEGUITA, NM—OCTOBER 11, 2018—Eye Am King, a $300,000 Sale Topper at the 2016 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, has returned home. Mac and Janis Murry have repurchased the son of leading sire Mr Jess Perry and will stand him at their MJ Farms near Veguita, New Mexico in 2019. His fee has not been announced.

MJ Farms purchased his dam, the Grade 1 mare Eye For Corona by Corona Cartel, at the 2014 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale from leading breeder Julianna Hawn Holt. She was carrying Eye Am King at the time.

Eye Am King topped the 2016 Ruidoso Select Sale when he brought a final bid of $300,000 from HWD Racing Stables, LLC. Injured in his only start, MJ Farms repurchased the young stallion for stud duty.

His sire, the late Mr Jess Perry was a three-time champion and is the #3 All-Time Leading Sire of Money Earners with 143 stakes winners, 9 champions and earners in excess of $54.5 million.

One of the industry's leading broodmare sires, Mr Jess Perry is also known as a "Sire of Sires" with six sons currently in the "Top 25" leading sires of money earners for 2018. They include 2018's leading sire Apolltical Jess, all-time leading first-crop sire One Famous Eagle, a 2018 leading third-crop sire High Rate Of Return and multiple stakes sires One Sweet Jess, Jesse James Jr and Jess Louisiana Blue.

Eye Am King's dam Eye For Corona SI 99, by leading living sire Corona Cartel, is a Grade 1 winner of $1.1 million including the Golden State Million Futurity. She was also second in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity(G1), Ed Burke Million Futurity(G1), PCQHRA Breeders' Derby(G2) and a finalist in the Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1).

Eye For Corona is the dam of 8 ROM winners and three black type including stakes winner Dr Jess SI 95 (a full sibling to Eye Am King), stakes winner Ultimate Wave SI 101 ($27,846), stakes-placed and Grade 1 finalist Eye For Fdd SI 90 ($50,363), etc.

The second dam is the G1-placed stakes producing Mr Eye Opener mare Eye For The Sixes SI 99 ($63,280), third in the Rainbow Futurity(G1), the dam of 16 ROM. She is a half-sister to Texas Classic Derby(G1) winner and multiple stakes sire Sixes Royal SI 101 ($384,977), G3 winner Four Six Dash SI 103 ($78,083), etc.

The third dam is G2 winning Streakin Six mare Tempered Glass SI 101 ($103,777). This is the family of Champion Sixy Chick SI 106 ($751,284), G3 winner and multiple stake sire Sixarun SI 106 ($291,228), etc.
