NORMAN, OK—OCTOBER 18, 2016—Three-time grade 1 placed Docs Best Card SI 91 will begin his stallion career in 2017 at Bob Moore Farms, near Norman, Oklahoma upon his retirement. His fee will be announced at that time.
Owned-and-trained by Jaime Gomez, the son of leading living sire of money earners Corona Cartel qualified to the Grade 1 $802,750 Los Alamitos Super Derby on Sunday. The final will be contested November 6th.
"Rarely does a stallion come along that can boast a race record like this," said Frank Merrill, Bob Moore Farms general manager. "His sire is a leading 'sire of sires' and his dam is one of the most productive mares in the Quarter Racing industry. He's proven to be fast, sound and breeders are going to love his looks. We are honored that Jaime has chosen Bob Moore Farms to stand Docs Best Card"
At 3, he has won or placed in all three starts to bring his earnings total to $761,285. He was third in the PCQHRA Breeders' Derby(G2) and was an easy three-quarter length winner in his Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1) trial on Sunday. A win in the Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1) would garner the colt a starting spot in the 2016 Grade 1 Champion of Champions at the end of the year.
