Graded 2 Placed El Damazo To Sierra Blanca Equine

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—DECEMBER 1, 2015—Multiple graded stakes-placed El Damazo SI 99 will begin his stallion career in 2016 at Sierra Blanca Equine, near Ruidoso Downs. His fee has been set at $1,350, however horsemen who book by January 1, 2016 can breed for $1,150.

The son of champion sire Desirio SI 116 won or placed in 11 of 12 starts to 3, earning $152,583. He was second in the Grade 2 West Texas Futurity and Grade 3 West Texas Derby. He was also second in the Animas Stakes and third in the Hobbs America Derby(G3) and Conquistador Stakes. El Damazo also qualified to the Mile High Derby.

Owned by the partnership of Juan Castro, Sergio Castro and Daniel Balderrama, El Damazo won his trial race for the West Texas Futurity(G2), West Texas Derby(G2), Hobbs America Derby(G3) and Mile High Derby.

In seven crops to race his sire, Desirio, has sired earners of more than $2.7 million including champion PJ Chick In Black SI 101 ($652,081, Ruidoso Futurity-G1, etc.), Grade 1 winner Deniro SI 103 ($511,611 Los Alamitos Super Derby-G1, etc.), etc.

El Damazo's dam is the multiple stakes producing Invisible Injun mare Invisible Streaker, dam of 5 ROM winners including Zia Derby(RG2) winner New Mexico Streaker SI 98 ($159,777), G2-placed El Damazo SI 99 (see above), RG1-placed The Four Js SI 89 ($102,402), etc.

The second dam is a Some Dasher mare who is a sister to West Texas Futurity(G1) winner Jp Streak SI 95 ($74,887) and half-sister to the dam of stakes winner Jhony Red SI 98 ($81,836).
