EVANSTON, WY—JULY 3, 2015—Political Chick posted the fastest speed index of her two year race career Saturday when she rolled to a 1¼-length winning effort in the 89 & Under Stakes (not black-type) trials at Wyoming Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from the four trial races conducted will return to Wyoming Downs on Saturday, July 18 and vie for the winner's share of an $8,000-added purse going 400 yards.

Ridden by jockey Corderelton Benn, Political Chick won easily in a :19.719 clocking to earn a career high 107 speed index. Alvaro Torres conditions the daughter of leading second crop sire world champion Apollitical Jess for owner Jon Lane Henderson.

Robert Gentry bred Political Chick in Kentucky from the Chicks Beduino mare Fearless Chick. It was the third win 10 starts for the gray filly who has earned $7,550.

Winners River, under Tyson Lusk, finished second with a 101 speed index to get the second fastest clocking of :19.936 seconds. Chancey Spencer trains the Winners Version filly for owner Sam Taylor. Chad Richard bred Winners River in New Mexico from the Rare Form mare Form A River.
