RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—DECEMBER 12, 2017—A one-time, $1,000 reduction of the supplemental nomination fees as an incentive for the 2018 Triple Crown futurities at Ruidoso Downs is due on Friday, December 15.

The result of the special supplemental nomination offer is that any quarter horse foal of 2016 not nominated to the 2018 Triple Crown can be nominated to the Ruidoso and Rainbow futurities by submitting a payment of $1,500 by December 15. The new All American supplemental fee of $2,500 is due by the same date.

Each of the three races then has sustaining payments due January 15, March 15 and April 15, 2018. There is also a trial entry payment.

The Grade 1, Ruidoso Futurity has a purse of $1-million (est.), the Grade 1 Rainbow Futurity has a purse of $1-million (est.) and quarter horse racing’s premier event — the Grade 1, All American Futurity — has a purse of $3-million (est.). The All American Futurity offers the largest purse of any two-year-old race in North America.

The horses supplemented to the Triple Crown futurites and making the sustaining payments will also be able to maintain eligibility to the 2019 Ruidoso Derby, Rainbow Derby and All American Derby by making the supplemental payments to each derby.
