CLAREMORE, OK–NOVEMBER 19, 2024–Following an unprecedented spring and summer for Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs, the American Quarter Horse Association has officially completed the 2024 fall racing season at the premier racing facility.

A total of 276 races ran on 28 regularly scheduled days, starting on Sept. 9. Fifty races were with mixed (Paint and Appaloosa) horses and 226 with Quarter Horses. The season concluded on Nov. 12 with more than $4.2 million in wagers.

AMARILLO, TX–OCTOBER 13, 2024–Following recent Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) positives found in racing American Quarter Horses, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas have announced updated requirements.

The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association announced that beginning October 13, Will Rogers Downs will require a negative Coggins test dated within 60 days of arrival for any horse arriving from out of state.

Tanner has been with the track for nearly three years and previously served as the Racing Ambassador. She brings years of experience and a passion for the racing industry to her new role.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—OCTOBER 10, 2024—Horsemen and women have until Tuesday, October 22 to consign horses for the 2025 47th Annual Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale.

The 47th annual Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale will held January 16th - 18th in Oklahoma City. Consignment Fee: $650 if entry is received by October 22, 2024 or $750 if entry is received after October 22, 2024 or later.

HOUSTON, TX–OCTOBER 10, 2024–Nomination forms for the 2025 Grade 2 Sam Houston Futurity and the 2025 Grade 3 Sam Houston Derby are now available.
