OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—JANUARY 15, 2010—Day two of the Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale remained strong as the overall two-day combined average of $9,859 is up 21% over the same in 2009.
" The crowd remained strong today," Jeff Tebow, Heritage Place Sale General Manager said Friday evening." We are very pleased with the results to this point and feel confident that day three will trend in the same direction. I really want to thank all of the consignors for the great group of horses they sent to the sale. We are very proud of this year's catalog," he added.
Friday's average of $8,198 represented an 11% increase over 2009's second day sale. Repurchases continue to trend downward and equal 8%. Gross sales for Friday were $2,697,150. There were 370 horses cataloged and 41 withdrawn from the sale.
Gross receipts for the first two days equaled $6,517,350.
Lazy E Ranch, LLC, Agent for Lucas Racing, Inc. consigned Friday's high-seller, Carrington Beach, a 2009 FDD Dynasty colt out of former Broodmare of the Year Runaway Wave.
Rafter W Stables purchased the bay half-brother to world champion Wave Carver, three-time champion Oceans Runaway and grade 1 winner Trisk for $65,000.
Lazy E Ranch, LLC, agent for Marilou Kelly Dispersal, was the consignor of the high-selling broodmare on Friday, Mexican Radio, bringing a final bid of $50,000. The 10-year-old stakes winning and producing daughter of On A High was purchased by Corner K Quarter Horses, LLC. She was bred to champion Teller Cartel.
In Thursday's opening session, Dashin Follies set what is believed to be an all-time record for a high-selling American Quarter Horse broodmare at auction when she sold for $875,000.

Saturday's sale begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. with hips 741 thru 1109 cataloged. Quarter Horses will sell first, followed by a Paint session (Hips 1028-1055) and a Thoroughbred session (Hips 1056-1109).
