Grade 1 Eye On Corona to New Mexico For 2015

BOSQUE, NM—OCTOBER 21, 2014—Moonshine Racing's Grade 1 placed Eye On Corona SI 94 has retired from racing and will begin his stallion career in 2015 at Double LL Farm near Bosque, New Mexico. His fee has been set at $2,500.

Runner-up to Nellie Delaney's in the 2014 Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Championship, Eye On Corona won or placed in eight of 15 career starts and earned $133,718. He was also third in the Independence Day Handicap and a finalist in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity(G1), Bob Moore Memorial Stakes(G2) and Sunland Challenge Championship(G2).

He is by the industry's leading living sire of money earners Corona Cartel, sire of 814 winners, 281 stakes horses(24%), earners of $46.3 million and average earnings per starters of nearly $40,000 per head.

Eye On Corona is out of the Grade 2 La Primera Del Ano Derby winner Louisiana Eye Opener SI 97, winner of seven of 10 career starts and earnings of $151,254. The daughter of leading broodmare sire Mr Eye Opener is the dam of 10 ROM, eight winners including Call Me Eye Opener SI 97 ($52,450), Eyejesslovelouisiana SI 96 ($19,945), etc.

The second dam, Louisiana Girl SI 100 ($30,569), is a G2-placed daughter of thoroughbred stallion Louisiana Slew (TB) out of the AQHA Racing Champion mare Little Blue Sheep Si 105 ($389,355).
