Cartels Feature Gets First Stakes Winner

Q-RACING JOURNAL—SEPTEMBER 12, 2014—The Corona Cartel stallion Cartels Feature got his first stakes winner on August 31 when WRS Big Tom scored in the $92,064 Iowa Stallion Futurity (R) at Prairie Meadows.

WRS Big Tom is a gelding bred and owned by Williams Racing Stables Inc. of La Center, Kentucky. He is out of the Fly Jess Fly mare WRS Six Memories, and this victory marks his first win in four career starts. He now has career earnings of $42,750.

Cartels Feature is a 7-year-old bay stallion by leading living sire Corona Cartel and out of the Truckle Feature mare Brenda Feature. This makes him a half-brother to the late leading sire Feature Mr Jess, who was a son of Mr Jess Perry.

Cartels Feature made 14 starts on the track, with seven placings and earnings of $19,013 and a career-high speed index of 98.
