OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 28, 2010—Remington Park conducted a stakes-laden program Saturday, dominated by fast horses and fast times with new track records established at two distances. The first big futurity of the season, the historic Oklahoma Futurity, went to First Painted Sign.
First Painted Sign won the grade 2, $312,000 Oklahoma Futurity with an explosive move from the starting gate in leading throughout the 300 yards for owner Sara Morgan of Edmond, Okla. Trained by Stacey Capps and ridden by Larry Payne, First Painted Sign held sway to win by a neck over a charging Knuckles O Toole. Traffic Wagon, the top qualifier for the futurity, was another half-length behind for third.
