Heavy Favorite Flyin Rabbit 123 Takes The Win In $50,000 Texas Classic Juvenile Invitational

GRANDE PRAIRIE, TX–NOVEMBER 18, 2023–Back to back winner at Lone Star Park Flyin Rabbit 123 scores a victory in the $50,000 Texas Classic Juvenile Invitational on Saturday.

With the second fastest time from the trials, Flyin Rabbit 123 was heavy favorite going into the finals with 1/1 odds. The son of Flying Cowboy 123 broke fourth from the gates but kicked clear at second call for a 3/4-length victory over The Marksman V.

Flyin Rabbit 123 clocked a 94 speed index in :19.749 seconds and the 400-yard victory under jockey Bryan Candanosa paid $4.20 for the win. The $27,548 winner's share of the purse increased the sorrel gelding's earnings to $238,038.

Trainer Toby Keeton conditions Flyin Rabbit 123 for owner/breeder Louis Malechek, III. The Oklahoma bred has three career wins and finished fourth in the All American Futurity [G1] in September. He is out of the Foose mare Hardtoget.

It was a tight race for second where The Marksman V crossed the wire a nose ahead of Flyn Electric Cowboy in a photo finish. Ridden by Francisco Calderon, the son of Apollitical Jess earned his first career blacktype status and upped his bankroll to $26,731.

Trainer Santos Carrizales, Jr. saddled The Marksman V for owner/breeder Valeriano Racing Stables, LLC. The winning Texas-bred gelding is out of Bellissima Chocolata by Valiant Hero.

Outfinished by a nose, Flyin Electric Cowboy took third under the guidance of Agustin Silva. The sorrel gelding by Flying Cowboy 123 has lit the board five of seven starts with two wins and $56,137 in the bank. Trained by Toby Keeton, he was a finalist in the Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity earlier this season at Remington Park.

Flyin Electric Cowboy was sold by breeder Paragon Farms, LLC for $67,000 in last year's Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. The Texas-bred gelding owned by Josefina Guzman is out of Corona Carmelita by Corona Cartel.

Favorite Candy V, Six Famous Eagles, Cant Pass This One, Timeless Temptation, Jonezs, Military Time and Johnny Ringo 123 round out the order of finish.
