Fastest Qualifier High Time To Fly Returns To Win Jim Bader Futurity

ALTOONA, IA—OCTOBER 13, 2018—Fastest qualifier High Time To Fly rallied strongly under jockey Bonifacio Quiroz to defeat Ja Go Forest Go by half-a-length in the $149,476 Jim Bader Futurity Saturday night at Prairie Meadows. Streakin Jesszee finished a nose back for third.

Saddled by trainer Alex Wessels, the royally bred High Time To Fly completed the 350 yards in :17.969 seconds to get his second career win and pocket the Jim Bader winners' purse valued at $67,264.

The brother to Grade 1 winner Ajs High races for owner Jeff State. Michael Teel bred the Apollitical Jess gelding in Iowa from the Rare Form mare Regally Rare. High Time To Fly has compiled a (4) 2-1-0 record and banked $76,279 this season. He broke his maiden in the September 28th trials while setting the fastest qualifying time.

Runner-up Ja Go Forest Go races for owner Casey Veach and is conditioned by trainer Manuel Campos. Jonathan Dominguez rode the son Gol out of Ja Impetuously by Mr Jess Perry. He earned $29,905 to bring his bankroll to more than $41,000.

Also owned by Jeff State and trained by Alex Wessels, Streakin Jesszee earned $14,958 for her third-place effort. Lucas Constantin rode the Mr Jess Perry filly out of Golly Zee by Gol. Joe B. Allen and Dallas Blakley bred the earner of nearly $22,000.

Apollitical Queen, Shesa Favorite Gal, Fire Up Ado B, Im A Fox Captain and Lil Upity completed the field.
