Belloc and Jensen Dominate Hobbs America Trials

Belloc and Jensen Dominate Hobbs America Trials

HOBBS, NM—SEPTEMBER 20, 2014—AQHA Racing champion jockey Cody Jensen and 2014 All American Futurity trainer Uberto Belloc teamed to win three trials and qualify four finalists Saturday afternoon to the Hobbs America Futurity(G2) at Zia Park.

The ten fastest qualifiers from the seven trials races contested at Zia Park Saturday will return to the Eastern New Mexico raceway on Sunday, October 5 and vie for the winner's share of an $80,000-added purse in the grade 2 event going 400 yards.

Under jockey Cody Jensen, JM Famous Master raced to an impressive 1¼ length win in the second trial to set the top qualifying mark. Getting this third win six starts this, the Pyc Paint Your Wagon gelding completed the 400 yard task in :19.451 seconds, a 93 speed index.

Third in the West Texas Futurity(G2) earlier this season, the Pyc Paint Your Wagon colt races for owner J and M Racing and Farm and trainer Umberto Belloc. The duo recently won both the $2.6 million All American Futurity and the All American Juvenile Invitational over Labor Day at Ruidoso Downs. The Kansas bred colt is from the Dash Ta Fame mare Cosmetologist. Henrichs / Cowboy Dentist Farm LLC bred the earner of over $55,000.

Takiana Romanova B posted an impressive 1¾ length victory in the final trial to post the second fastest time of :19.455 seconds, also a 93 speed index. Eliseo Loza Gonzalez conditions the FDD Dynasty filly for Jimmy and Dinah Negrete. Bielau Oaks Ranch bred the gray filly in Oklahoma from the Fishers Dash mare Taka Puna. Jaime Leos was aboard the lightly race filly who has won two of five starts this season.

Jensen and Belloc's second qualifier Political Report won the fifth trial by three-quarters of length to get the third fastest time of :19.472, another 93 speed index. Luis Villanueva owns the daughter of world champion and leading first crop sire Apollitical Jess. The trial was the first win in three starts for the Missouri bred miss out of Sport Report, by Strawfly Special. Jim Streelman and Bill Dale are the breeder.

Jensen and Belloc's other two finalists were 5th qualifier Dynazip and 7th qualifier Eagle On The Fly.
