SOUTH JORDAN, UT—JUNE 1, 2014—Maria Garfias' Boundtobeadragqueen defeated Gnoogie by 1˝ lengths at Laure Brown Track Saturday afternoon to post the top qualifying tie for the UQHRA Ed Giles Futurity.

The 10 fastest two-year-olds, from the five trial races contested, will return to the Utah raceway on Friday, June 20 and vie for the winner's share of a $34,260 purse over 350 yards.

Under jockey J. Valenzuela, Boundtobeadragqueen completed the 350 yards course in :17.995 seconds to get the top qualifying spot. It was the first career start for the Snowbound (TB) colt trained by J. Garfias. Ronald Hartley bred the gray in California from the Separatist mare Queenly Dream.

Steve Berry's homebred Gunnin For Doe was a two-length winner in the final trial for trainer A. Torres. O. Cervantes rode the FDD Dynasty colt in his first career start to an :18.095 time, the second fastest for the day. Gunnin For Doe is out of the Hennessy (TB) mare Bundle Doe.

Ron Moosman saddled Bf Apolticalfantic to victory and the third fastest time of :18.109 in the third trial. The homebred for Birrell Farms is by world champion Apollitical Jess from the Dash Ta Fame mare Bf Lollyop. U. Dominguez had the riding assignment aboard the first time starter.
