GILLETTE, WY—MAY 30, 2025—A deep cast of seasoned Quarter Horses will line up Saturday at Energy Downs 307 Racing in five trials to determine the finalists for the $50,000-added Energy Downs Maturity, with the ten fastest 400-yard times advancing to the June 14 final.
Each trial brings a mix of regional class, graded stakes experience, and sharp local form. Here's a look at the leading contenders in each heat based on morning-line favoritism, including full connections and pedigree.
Pyc Fancy Cartel has been set at 5-1 as the morning line favorite for the opening trial (Race 2). Owned by La Despedida Racing, LLC, this 5-year-old son of Pyc Fun N Fancy out of Kimbo Cartel by Corona Cartel has banked over $68,000.
Bred in Colorado by Edy Arturo Ontiveros Palacios, he's trained by Hugo Ontiveros and will be ridden by Cordarelton J. Benn. A multiple stakes-placed veteran, he arrives with a 102 speed index two races back.
Relentlessly Fast, 1 stakes-placed runner for owner Tom Maher, is 7-2 in the morning line in the first trial. This 4-year-old gelding by leading sire Hes Relentless out of Logans Fast Dasher by Heza Fast Dash is trained by Tyler Stein and ridden by Luis A. Valenzuela.
Bred in Oklahoma by Stuart and Strebig, he has career earnings exceeding $104,000 and enters with strong credentials, including a two futurity wins at 2.
Imaginacion has been set as the 2-1 morning line favorite for trial 2 (Race 3). Owned by The Imaginacion Partners and trained by Joe M. Davis, this 4-year-old gelding recently turned heads with a 98-speed index performance at Remington Park in his last start.
He’s sired by Hes Relentless and out of Pollitical Scorpion by Apollitical Jess. Cordarelton J. Benn has the call. He was bred in Oklahoma by Jahree Standridge.
Bred in Wyoming by Gordon Knudsen, Jkh Almost A Dynasty is 7-2 in the morning line for the second trial. This 4-year-old daughter of Jr Dynasty Mountain out of Almost Early by Favorite Cartel is owned by UDM Investments LLC.
She's trained by Calli VanTassell Dominguez and ridden by Brayan Juarez. A recent winner of the $28,000 Energy Downs Filly and Mare Stakes, she is sharp at the right time.
Jess A Spittin Candy is the 5-2 morning line favorite for trial 3 (Race 4). Fresh off a victory in the $28,000 Ron Moosman Stakes, this 4-year-old mare by Jess Good Candy out of Salt Lake Spitty by Salt Lake (TB) is owned by Joe M. Davis and trained by the same.
Cordarelton J. Benn is named to ride Jess A Spittin Candy. She was bred in Oklahoma by PV Quarter Horse Farms, LLC and looks to build on her Energy Downs momentum.
Milagro Lady has been set at 3-1 as the second favorite in the morning line for trial 3. A restricted Grade 1 stakes winning mare with over $210,000 in earnings, Milagro Lady is by Rite Favorite and out of Ping Pong Patty by Jesse James Jr.
Bred in New Mexico by R. Stratton and S & N Edwards, Milagro Lady races for owner Neale Edwards and is trained by Kayla Warren, with Luis A. Valenzuela aboard.
Love Kiss J Lee has been set as the 4-1 morning line favorite for trial 4 (Race 5). This consistent 6-year-old gelding is by leading sire Kiss My Hocks and out of Love That Look by Favorite Cartel.
Owned and bred by Melody Olsen, he’s was bred in Utah and will be piloted by Cesar T. Moreno. Trained by Calli VanTassell Dominguez, Love Kiss J Lee won the 2024 Governor's Handicap at Sweetwater Downs last fall and was a close second in the Ron Moosman Stakes in his only start this year.
Multiple stakes winner Yo Morning Delite is 6-1 second favorite in the morning line for trial 4 after finishing third in the Ron Moosman Stakes in his only start this year.

Injeanius, set at 6-1 in the morning line for the final trial, is trained by Jose Chavez for owner Javier Gonzalez. This 4-year-old gelding by leding sire Favorite Cartel out of All N The Jeans by Corona Cartel was bred in Oklahoma by Bobby D. Cox. Valente Vorrath will ride.
