Cyber Buzz (#2) edged Ojd Tempt Me Not (#7) in the fourth trial to set the fastest qualifying time for the Wyoming Downs Governors Cup Futurity Friday afternoon.

EVANSTON, WY—JULY 24, 2026—Cyber Buzz edged Ojd Tempt Me Not by a neck in the fourth of 10 trials Friday afternoon at Wyoming Downs to post the fastest qualifying time for the $50,000-added Wyoming Downs Governors Cup Futurity, which will be contested August 9 at 350 yards.

The bay filly stopped the timer in 17.543, earning a 96 speed index while overcoming a bump at the start before holding gamely through the wire.

Owned and trained by Alex J. Torres-Casas, Cyber Buzz is a 2-year-old filly by leading second-crop sire Cyber Monday out of Hunny Bee, by Apollitical Jess. She was bred in Oklahoma by Thomas J. Scheckel and was ridden by Brandon Mendez Guevara. A graduate of the 2025 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, she was purchased for $8,000. In her trial, Cyber Buzz defeated Ojd Tempt Me Not by a neck after a sharp effort despite being bumped leaving the gate.

Winner of the Desert Classic Futurity and a finalist in the 307 HR Open QH Futurity earlier this year, Cyber Buzz has won five of six career starts and banked $66,190.

The second-fastest qualifier was Ojd Tempt Me Not, who also emerged from the fourth trial after finishing second to Cyber Buzz in 17.596. The gray gelding by champion Tempting Dash out of Ojd One Favorite Jj, by Favorite Cartel, is owned by Karla Diaz Gomez and Oscar Jaime Diaz, was bred in Idaho by Karla Diaz-Gomez & Oscar Diaz, is trained by Oscar Jaime Diaz, and was ridden by Nestor Duran.

After encountering traffic leaving the gate, Ojd Tempt Me Not rallied strongly before falling just a neck short of the fastest qualifier. The Idaho Cup Futurity winner suffered his first loss in four starts in the trials. He has earned $31,940.

Third on the qualifying list was Dulces Fire Z, who completed the same productive fourth trial in 17.619 after closing well to finish third, just 1¼ lengths behind Cyber Buzz. The gelding is by Dulce Sin Tacha out of Fires Relentless, by Hes Relentless.

He races for Buckway Ranch, LLC, was bred in Texas by T & M Dinwiddie Racing, is conditioned by Joe M. Davis, and was ridden by Edwin G. Escobedo. Dulces Fire Z sold for $53,000 at the 2025 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.
