OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 19, 2025—Gregory Cullum's Apollitical Muse got her first career stakes win on Saturday when she defeated Bv Elaina Ray in the $160,670 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Oaks on Saturday at Remington Park.

Jockey Juan Pulido would not be denied as Apollitical Muse completed the 400 yards in 19.887 seconds, an 89 speed index on a sloppy (sealed) racing surface with a 13 mph tailwind.

Trainer Jed Vane saddled the daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess to her fourth career win in 12 starts. Sixth in the Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby three races back, Apollitical Muse was bred from the Southern Cartel mare Bp Shes Southern by Rancho El Cabresto, Inc. The $64,268 Oaks' winner's purse swells her bankroll to $126,482.  She was a $55,000 purchase from the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale in 2023.

Apollitical Muse paid $16.20 to win, $7.60 to place, and $5.40 to show.

Off best, Bv Elaina Ray was outdueled under jockey Jhaciel Soto and had to settle for second-place worth $27,314. Eddie Lee Willis conditions the daughter of Valiant Hero from owner-breeder Bella Vista Farm, LLC. Out of the Ivory James mare Bv Ms James, Bv Eliana Ray has earned $68,744 in eight starts.

Thereturnofthecartel finished three-quarters back to earn $17,674 for third.  Kasey Willis saddled the Favorite Cartel filly for owner Verle Bohner. Fourth in the Remington Park Juvenile last season, the bay filly was bred by James Daniel Black from the High Rate Of Return mare Striking Perfection.

Flying Bandida, High Dollar Dynasty, Curlie D, Mm Lightning Jess, Jolie Laide, Eyes Wagon My Tale, and Flashing Dynamite completed the official order of finish.
