Mr High Five Leads Final Five Qualifiers for $1 Million Rainbow Futurity [G1]

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM— JUNE 28, 2025—Five more promising two-year-old Quarter Horses secured their spots on Saturday for the upcoming $1,000,000 Rainbow Quarter Horse Futurity [G1], joining the five fastest qualifiers from the opening day of trials held Friday (see related story).

The final will be contested over 400 yards on July 13, 2025, at Ruidoso Downs. The winner will earn $420,000.

Leading the way on Day 2 was Mr High Five, who delivered an eye-catching trial performance by stopping the clock in 19.602, a 93 speed index with a 7 mph tailwind — the fastest time of the day.

The bay gelding, bred in Oklahoma by Sam W. Green, is by leading sire Apollitical Jess out of Ms Southern Dynasty by FDD Dynasty.

Mr High Five is campaigned by Tungsten Racing Partnership for trainer Eric Valenzuela and was guided to victory by jockey Sergio Becerra, Jr. He was a $155,000 yearling purchase from the 2024 Heritage Place Yearling Sale. He entered the trials off a win in his Ruidoso QH Futurity trial on May 23. He has earned $12,000 in three starts.

Apolitical Valor, another Apollitical Jess gelding, was next fastest with a qualifying mark of 19.747, defeating the field by 1-1/4 lenghts.

Owned by MJR Investments, Ltd. and trained by Clinton Crawford, Apolitical Valor is out of Belle Of Valor by Valiant Hero and was bred in Oklahoma by Canadian River QH LLC and started off a fourth place finish in the $1,000,000 Ruidoso QH Futurity(G1) in his last start June 8.

Jockey Jacob Enriquez had the call. Apolitical Valor was acquired for $50,000 at the 2024 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. The bay gelding has won three of six starts and earned $112,061.

Envestor, a $28,000 purchase from the 2024 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, secured his place with a 19.797 clocking, winning by the largest margin all day, 3-1/4 lengths.

The bay gelding is by leading first-crop sire Dulce Sin Tacha out of And Poof Shes Gone by Stoli. He is trained by Zackary Stinebaugh for owners Richard Young, Joe David Yates, and himself. Ali Rivera rode the Belinda Shaw Arkansas-bred runner to his trial win. Also a winner in his Ruidoso QH Futurity trial he has a perfect 2-for-2 and has earned $12,000.

Cyber Courage, a $45,000 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale buy, also advanced with a time of 19.817. The Cyber Monday gelding is out of Tinys Courage by Captain Courage finished second in the fastest trial to Mr High Five.

He is campaigned by owner/trainer Alex Torres-Casas. Juan Pulido was up on the Flag Ranch LLC (OK)-bred juvenile. He was second  in his career debut, a maiden, his only other start at Turf Paradise.

Rounding out the top five qualifiers on the second day was Remarkable Cowgirl, who posted 19.824. The Flying Cowboy 123 filly, bred in Texas by Felix Rodriguez and Sergio Holguin, is out of Freighttrain Reba by Freighttrain B.

These five join the five fastest from Day 1 to complete the ten-horse field for the prestigious Rainbow QH Futurity final, which will award a $1 million purse on July 13.

The 400-yard dash is one of the sport’s signature summer races, promising high drama at the historic Ruidoso Downs.
