OGDEN, UT–APRIL 25, 2025–Lined up in post-position four, A Jazzy Tres Seis flew from the gates and led the entire trip to the wire for the win in the $36,740 Utah Bred Derby on Sunday at Weber Downs.
Piloted by Oscar Andrade Jr, A Jazzy Tres defeating Tempting Look by a head with a five mph tailwind in :16.650 seconds, clocking a 100 speed index. After winning her trial 330-yard heat to the derby, the daughter of the champion sire Tres Seis is now two for two in her sophomore season.

Tempting Look, ridden by Victor Dominguez, had a slow start but kept on A Jazzy Tres Seis’ tail with a big run for second. Fastest qualifier from the trials, Dnc Dynasty, with Jose Olivo in the irons, made a late effort for third.
W3 Farms LLC bred and owns A Jazzy Tres Seis, who’s record improved to 3-2-1 from nine starts and the $6,246 payday boosted her earnings to $23,217. Conditioned by Sergio Canales, this is the first stakes victory for the sorrel filly out of Pipers Tune by Bono Jazz.
Trainer Jorge Paredes saddled runner-up Tempting Look for owners/breeders Carolyn and Adrian Aleman. The winning son of Tempting Dash earned his second black type status from 12 starts with $33,516 in the bank. He is out of Righteous Look by Righteous Brother.
Sergio Canales also trained third-place finisher Dnc Dynasty for owners/breeders W3 Farms LLC. The son of Duponte has two wins with $17,129 in earnings from six starts, including the Invitational Handicap victory last year. He is out of the FDD Dynasty mare Dinastia Rose.
Favorite Buddy Bc, Jg Special Dynasty, El Treen, Jg Separatist Times, Kue Tiz Due, Night Fury and Promontory complete the order of finish.
UTAH BRED DERBY CONSOLATION
Weber Downs also hosted the Utah Bred Derby consolation which ran for $6,000 in race seven on the card. Rj Spicer, ridden by Jesus Valenzuela, got the win by a 1/2-length over Quick A Jess. He has five wins from eight starts and $30,077 in the bank, including the Oneida County Futurity last season.
Trainer Kylie Valenzuela saddled the son of The Louisiana Cartel for owner Jose Rico. William Nolan bred the Rj Spicer out of Fearless Fire by Walk Thru Fire. .
