GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–SEPTEMBER 6, 2025—A talented trio of Accredited Texas-breds — Hes A Jet One, Hollywoode, and Ima Chili — headline a competitive field in the $50,000 Dr. Glenn Blodgett Stakes, Lone Star Park's "Meeting of Champions" opening weekend on Friday, September 6.
The 350-yard dash has been drawn as Race 9 with an approximate post time of 9:33 p.m. (CDT).
Morning-line favorite Hes A Jet One (9-5) returns to Lone Star Park after a thrilling head victory in the TQHA Classic Stakes (RG2) on July 25 at Retama Park. The 5-year-old sorrel gelding, owned and bred by Pete A. Scarmardo, edged out Th Mai Tai Tom in 20.254 for 400 yards and continues to showcase his consistency at the stakes level.
By champion EC Jet One and out of Shez Dead Serious by Swingin Jess, Hes A Jet One has compiled nine wins, eight seconds, and four thirds from 31 career starts, earning $326,190.
Trained by John A. Stinebaugh and ridden by Ali Rivera, he has proven a formidable contender at shorter distances, finishing on the board in six of eight 350-yard starts.
Second-choice Hollywoode (2-1) aims to reverse recent results for owner Leobersi Perez and trainer Fernando Lopez. The 4-year-old gray gelding by multiple stakes sire Hawkeye, out of Thriving Ivory by Ivory James, was bred in Texas by Bobby D. Cox and purchased for $33,000 at the TQHA Yearling Sale.
Hollywoode finished third behind Hes A Jet One in the TQHA Classic, but he turned the tables earlier this summer, defeating his rival by a neck in the $55,000 Willie Hickman Memorial Stakes at Sam Houston.
With four wins, three seconds, and a third in 10 starts, Hollywoode has banked $103,853 and reunites with jockey Jorge J. Garcia for another high-profile clash.
Ima Chili (7-2) brings a fast-rising profile into this race for owner Darrell L. Hooper and trainer Zackery N. Rios. The 3-year-old bay APHA gelding by second-crop sire Chilitos, out of Im Not Hillary by Executive Menace, was bred in Texas by Sarah Huskey and has rapidly developed into one of the region’s top young sprinters.
Ima Chili enters off a runner-up finish in the TQHA 250 Stakes at Retama Park on July 25, where he was narrowly beaten by Embers Time in 13.001 for 250 yards after a sharp early break. That effort followed his dominant back-to-back wins in the $55,000 Sam Houston 250 Stakes on June 14 and he $45,000 Silver Bullet Stakes on June 26.
Ima Chili boasts six wins, three seconds, and four thirds from 16 starts with earnings of $134,087. Regular rider Nestor Duran retains the mount, and the gelding looks poised for a breakthrough against older rivals in his Lone Star Park debut.
With Hes A Jet One’s class, Hollywoode’s tactical speed, and Ima Chili’s sharp form, fans are set for a thrilling showdown as these three leading contenders vie for the winner’s share of the $50,000 purse.
