AQHA Working With Sale Companies, Consignors For Upcoming Yearling Sales

AMARILLO, TX—MAY 6, 2019— It’s consignment time for the upcoming yearling sales and some breeders and consignors have encountered issues getting completed registration papers, needed to accompany their entries to the sale companies, from AQHA.

AQHA is currently fine tuning its new computer system (launched in March) and this has caused a number of registration papers for foals of 2018 (yearlings of 2019) yet to be generated.

AQHA is working closely with all sale companies and Robin Glenn Pedigrees, the company which produces the majority of sale catalogs for the industry, to provide the necessary information needed to begin building the fall yearling sale catalog(s). Robin Glenn Pedigrees will also have the ability to communicate directly with AQHA's Registration Department to coordinate and verify registration information for catalog production.

"AQHA is working with the sale companies, asking them to go ahead and accept consignments from owners with registration and/or transfers currently pending at the AQHA office. This will assist in not delaying the entry process and when the registration certificates are completed and mailed the consignors can then forward them to the sale companies" AQHA First Vice-President F.E. "Butch" Wise said today.

Consignors are urged to go ahead and consign their pending yearlings to their respective sales. The sale companies will then share their list(s) of the consignments that have pending work with AQHA.

Registration papers for all sale entries will be provided by AQHA to the appropriate sale companies and copies to the cataloging companies as soon as they are completed.

"Our team will complete the processing of the necessary paperwork for these horses prior to the sale occurring, as long as the appropriate information and documentation has been received by AQHA," the association said in a bulletin published today.
