Undefeated Perrys Secret, Trump My Record Among Fastest in TQHA Sale Futurity Trials
Perrys Secret, under jockey Manuel Gutierrez, romps to a 2-¾ length win while setting the fastest qualifying time for the $474,750 TQHA Sale Futurity (RG2) at Retama Park on Friday night.

Undefeated Perrys Secret, Trump My Record Among Fastest in TQHA Sale Futurity Trials

SAN ANTONIO, TX— JULY 12, 2019—In his third consecutive win, the undefeated Perrys Secret won the third of nine trials for the $474,750 TQHA Sale Futurity (RG2) at Retama Park on Friday night.

The 350-yard final will be held on July 27, 2019. Perrys Secret’s time of 17.504 was the fastest from nine trials and earned the winner a 103 speed index.

Perrys Secret ($2.60) was a heavy post-time favorite in his trial and backed it up with an easy win, almost three lengths in front of the rest of the field.

The gelded son of Hez Our Secret was ridden by Manuel Gutierrez for trainer Josue Ponce. He is owned by Almada Racing and was bred in Texas by Jackie Sessions, out of Sister Jess by Mr Jess Perry.

Perrys Secret broke his maiden in his trial for the $323,571 West Texas Futurity (G2) and won the final at odds of 13-1. The gelding is now three for three with $159,398 in career earnings.

The second fastest qualifier, Domino Cd ($4.20) broke his maiden in the eighth trial. Francisco Calderon was aboard for Jorge Haddad, who bred, owns and trains the gelded son of Dominyun. He is out of Cindys First Cd, by Corona Cartel and posted a time of 17.510 in his trial.

Domino Cd debuted at Sam Houston and qualified for the $459,700 Sam Houston Futurity (G2), finishing fourth in the final. The winner, Trump My Record, returned as the winner of the first trial and third overall qualifier.

Trump My Record ($2.80) defeated eighth-fastest qualifier Medicci by over two lengths in their trial with a time of 17.524. It marked the fifth consecutive win for the undefeated son of Apollitical Blood.

Trump My Record is owned by Cruz Nava; Eddie Sanchez was aboard for trainer Jose Sanchez, III. He was bred by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches LP, out of Breck N Records, by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, who has now earned $304,512.

The remarkable win streak for Trump My Record includes the Sam Houston Futurity as well as the $254,070 Harrah’s Futurity (G3) at Louisiana Downs.
