OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 12, 2019—It was a huge night at Remington Park for the combination of trainer Clint Crawford and jockey Juan Pulido on Thursday night as they each solidified their spots in second place in their respective standings races with three wins apiece.

Crawford went from a tie for second with Rick Robinson and Dee Keener to sole runner-up at this point, moving up to 26 wins in the standings, five behind leading trainer Eddie Willis, who has 31. Robinson won two races and is in third with 25 victories and Keener sits in fourth with 23. Sammy Valdivia rounds out the top five with 22 trips to the winner’s circle.

Pulido was in a tie for fifth in the jockey’s standings and jumped over four jockeys into second place. His three wins gave him 26 wins after 40 days of this meet, well behind leading rider James Flores at 48. Rounding out the top five are Cody Smith with 25 in third, and Ricky Ramirez and Jimmy Brooks tied for fourth with 24.

The duo of Crawford and Pulido sent horses to post together in races seven, nine and 10 and won with all three – Lady Dynasty, High On Chablis and Its The Whiskey. Lady Dynasty won the seventh, a maiden race for 2-year-old Quarter Horses going 330 yards. She broke from the 1-hole under Pulido at 9-2 odds and won by a half-length over runner-up Just B Mighty, the 5-2 second favorite, who was another neck ahead of third-place longshot Jess Frosted, at 22-1. The 2-1 favorite, Johnee B ran last.

Lady Dynasty is owned by Cavenaugh Quarter Horses, LLC, of Walnut Ridge, Ark. The 2-year-old daughter of FDD Dynasty, out of the Check Him Out mare Lady Nayen, was bred in California by Lazy Creek Ranch. It was the first start of her career. She covered the 330 yards in 17.168 seconds over a fast track to earn a speed index of 78. Lady Dynasty paid $11 to win, $5.60 to place and $3.40 to show.

In the ninth race, Pulido booted home High On Chablis in a $7,500 claiming race for 3-year-olds-and-older that had never won two races lifetime. His mount went off at 4-1 odds and ran three-quarters of a length ahead of another 4-1 horse, Killer Leaving You, who was a head in front of Ragin, at 6-1 odds, in third.

This 4-year-old gelded son of High Rate of Return, out of the Toast to Dash mare Toast of Chablis, is owned by Jerry Blackmon, Mike Schau, and Connie Nobles of Houston, Texas. High On Chablis was bred in Oklahoma by Connie Nobles. He covered the 440 yards in 21.954 seconds and earned a speed index of 84. High on Chablis paid $10.40 to win, $5.20 to place and $4 to show.

In the 10th race, Its The Whiskey won a $10,000 claiming race for non-winners of two lifetime, American Quarters Horses, 3-years-old-and-up. This 3-year-old gelded son of Coronado Cartel, out of the Takin On The Cash mare Takin On Smashingly, is owned by Tim Lange of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was bred in Oklahoma by Ray and Donna Harvey.

It’s the Whiskey went off at 7-5 odds and won by a head over 2-1 second favorite Train To B Bad. The winner stopped the clock for 300 yards in 15.635 seconds, for an 82 speed index. Train To B Bad was another half-length ahead of third-place Yes No Yes at 13-1 odds. Its The Whiskey paid $4.80 to win, $2.60 to place and $2.20 show.

Racing continues Friday night at 6 p.m. with a Sooner 6ix carryover of $31,773.43 in the pool for the unique-ticket 20-cent wager. There were multiple tickets that hit six-of-six on Thursday night and each one paid $1,364. There is a special live racing first post on Saturday at Noon to coincide with simulcast racing at Pimlico in Baltimore that will include the second jewel of the Triple Crown as 13 horses go to post in the Preakness Stakes.
