SELMA, TX—MARCH 15, 2019—Expedyte, a colt by multiple stakes sire Freighttrain B, posted the top time from 122 two-year-old's who participated in 19 schooling races on Friday at Retama Park.

Racing for owner Raedele Phipps and trainer Alonso Neri, Expedyte completed the 250 yards in :13.39 seconds to score the fastest clocking on Friday in Race 20. Jockey Victor Urieta, Jr. had the riding call aboard the Texas-bred colt from the Shazoom mare Shazumba.

Cold Bet, a filly by third-crop sire This Cartel Is Cold, posted the second fastest time of :13.60 seconds for owner Davila Gregorio and trainer Santiago Riojas, Jr. Also ridden by Urieta, Jr., the gray filly is out of High Class Bet by Hiclass La Jolla.

This Cartel Is Cold is a son of leading sire Corona Cartel from the grade 1 winning This Snow Is Royal mare This Snow Is Cold.

A pair of filly's by leading second-crop sire Coronado Cartel recorded the third and fourth fastest times.

Patoranado, a Coronado Cartel filly from the Ivory James mare Pat Throna won Race 5 under jockey Francisco Calderon. Trainer Leon Bard saddled the winner for owner Mi Cielo Ranch. She stopped the timer in :13.62 seconds.

Terrazas Family's Queen Coronado won Race 18 under jockey Nestor Duran to get the third fastest time of :13.64 seconds. Trainer Santiago Riojas, Jr. conditions the Coronado Cartel filly out of Prairie War Princess by Dash Is Easy.

Trainer Santiago Riojas, Jr. had four winners and Leon Bard saddled three winners on Friday's schooling card. Marc Jungers and John Stinebaugh had two apiece.

Coronado Cartel was the only sire with duel winners on Friday's card. Other sires with winners were Apollitical Blood, Big Daddy Cartel, Down N Dash, Favorite Cartel, FDD Dynasty, First Down Dash, Heza Fast Dash, High Rate Of Return, Kiss My Hocks, Mr Jess Perry, My Famous Romance, One Famous Eagle, One Handsome Man, Tempting Dash and The Louisiana Cartel.
