Kiss My Hocks Colt Gets Fastest Time From 80 Two-Year-Olds at Retama Park Friday

SELMA, TX—MARCH 1, 2019—Champion and first-crop sire Kiss My Hocks' Doc Hockaday posted the fastest time from 80 two-year-old's who participated in 15 training races on Friday at Retama Park.

Conditioned by trainer Robi Meche, Doc Hockaday won Race 13 while completing the 250 yards in :13.70 seconds to score the top mark of the day. Owned by Tyler Graham and Jose F. Hernandez the bay colt,from the Dean Miracle mare Deans Dusty Bunny ,is a half-brother to Mighty Deck Three Stakes winner JB James.

The second dam is the multiple stakes producing Oh Shiney mare Oh Dusty Bunny and this is the family of champions Splash Bac, Jumping Tac Flash, Six To Five and major stakes winners Gun Battle, Beat Your Pants Off, Major Rime, Sumokin and more. Country Line Runners is the breeder.

Tren de Carga, a colt by multiple grade 1 sire Freghttrain B won Race 9 for owner/breeder Bobby D. Cox and trainer Josue Ponce. The $45,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale repurchase stopped the timer in :13.76 seconds to get the second fastest time on Friday.

The brown colt from the One Famous Eagle mare Corazonas, is a half-brother to Sam Houston Futurity(G2) finalist Nocturnes. This is the family of Cox's AQHA Racing champions Wahoo and Brimmerton.

Cox and Ponce also teamed with $220,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate Jess Different to win Race 16. The son of leading sire Mr Jess Perry, from the multiple stakes producing First Down Dash mare Little Surfer, races in the name of Cox-Lane LLC. The sorrel colt was timed in :13.85 seconds to tie of the 9th fastest overall clocking. This is the family of champions Ocean Runaway and Wave Carver.

TQHA Yearling Sale $9,000 repurchase Doz Coronas tied for the third fastest time of :13.77 seconds after winning the Race 10 for the ownership group of M. Gomez, O. Salazar and J. Salazar. Trainer Arturo Davila, III saddled the colt by champion sire The Louisiana Cartel from the Shazoom mare Zoomin To Firstplace. The bay colt is from the family of Grade 1 winner Vodka With Ice.

Runaway Second Down, an $80,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate racing for owner Eulalio Argote, equaled the :13.77 clocking in the Race 12 to tie for the overall third fastest time on Friday. Also from the barn of Robi Meche, the gray Sir Runaway Dash gelding is a half-brother to multiple stakes winner Second Down Leaving. The second dam is the two-time AQHA Racing champion mare Royal Down Dash by First Down Dash.

Meche was the day's leading trainer with seven winners on the 16 race card. Ponce had three and Davila saddled two winners.

Freighttrain B and Mr Jess Perry each had duel winners. Other sires with winners Friday include Capo de Capi, Captain Courage, Corona Cartel, Coronas Leaving You, Favorite Cartel, First Down Dash, Gol To Go and Pyc Paint Your Wagon.
