BV Shameless Puts Up Fastest Time Of Day In Training Races At Remington Park On Friday

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 1, 2019—BV Shameless was on the muscle Friday, breaking sharply from the gate under jockey Mario Delgado and cruising to the fastest win of the day in seven training races at Remington Park. She stopped the watch in a time of :13.587 seconds for a speed index of 76, winning from the 6-hole, for trainer Eddie Lee Willis and owner Bella Vista Farms, into a slight 5 mph headwind.

All the races were for 2-year-olds going 250 yards with the third and sixth races of the day restricted to Paints and Appaloosas. Friday’s training races were over a fast track, conducted under overcast skies with temperatures in the low to mid-30s.

BV Shameless was bred to be a superstar. Tres Seis, who sired the all-time money earner of Quarter Horse racing, Ochoa, winner of the $2.4 million All-American Futurity in 2011 and the 2012, $2.2 million All-American Derby, is also BV Shameless’ daddy. Tres Seis’ progeny have earned more than $23 million.

On the bottom side of BV Shameless’ pedigree is Pyc Paint Your Wagon, who sired this 2-year-old’s dam, BV Valentine Wagon. Pyc Paint Your Wagon ran out $889,581 with seven wins in 16 starts, including the Grade 1 Heritage Place Derby at Remington Park and the Grade 2 Lazy E Futurity, also in Oklahoma City. As a stallion, he has had more than 100 stakes winners and horses that have earned more than $32 million.

Zoom Kiss, a $24,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale repurchase posted the second fastest time in race 4 for owners William Smith and Ky Luddington. Heath Taylor conditions the colt by first-crop sire, champion Kiss My Hocks from the West Texas Futurity(G1) winner and producer First Prize Zoom by Shazoom.

The winners of the other training races Friday were:

  • Shaunda Got A Prize (second race, by a neck, in 13.699 seconds, for a 71 speed index, for trainer Sammy Valdivia, and owner Jeff Hepper and Weetona Stanley)
  • Te Ata Tales (third race, Paints/Appaloosas, three-quarters of a length, 13.944, 61, Stacy Charette-Hill, Randy Hill and Mickey Johnson)
