Dashing Sashay Sweeps Gridiron Challenge Sires With Fourth Consecutive Win

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—NOVEMBER 9, 2018—Dashing Sashay swept the Lone Star Park Gridiron Challenge Series (not black type) Friday night in at Lone Star Park when she defeated Papi Chulo Jm by three/quarters of a length in the $14,000 11th race.

Ridden by jockey Victor Urieta, Jr., Dashing Sashay got a fast start under jockey Victor Urieta, Jr. to completed the 100 yards in a :6.287 seconds, a 114 speed index with an 8 mph tailwind.

Trainer Santiago Riojas, Jr. saddled the daughter of leading sire One Dashing Eagle to her fifth career win, fourth straight for owner SF Racing & Enterprises, LLC. The $8,400 winner's purse boosted the filly's earnings total to $84,766.

After winning the French Quarter Stakes at Fair Grounds Race Course on September 9th, Dashing Sashay won the second of two divisions of the Lone Star Park Gridiron Series by one-length on September 29th. She returned on October 26th to get her second series victory at the Lone Star Park Meet. Completing the hattrick tonight, she recorded a 111, 101 and 114 speed index for the three wins.

Bred in Oklahoma by Monty McNair, from the Walk Thru Fire mare Sashay Hot, Dashing Sashay has compiled a (14) 8-1-1 record in two seasons of racing.

Runner-up Papi Chulo Jm earned $2,800 for owner-trainer Janessa Muniz. Jockey Jose Herbert rode the Pappasito 5-year-old from the Okey Dokey Dale mare Junoimokey. Casey Humphrey bred the horse in Texas.

Bluemoonteller, Miss Bok, Alezzandro Sr Esmeralda, The Translator and El Remmy completed the field. Onespecialpyc was scratched.
