EVANSTON, WY—JUNE 25, 2017—Vvr Dazzling Corona broke her maiden Sunday with a nose win over Smoke N Fame to set the fastest qualifying time for the Wyoming Bred Derby at Wyoming Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Wyoming Downs on Sunday, July 9th to vie for the winner's share of $23,000 purse going 350 yards.

With a late surge under jockey Jesus Virgen, Vvr Dazzling Corona posted the top qualifying time of :17.564 seconds, a 93-speed index. Trainer Skyler Greene conditions the daughter of Coronas Velvet for owner Casey Albert Lipp.

Mike Lipp bred Vvr Dazzling Corona from the Dash To Chivato mare Dazzling Chivata. Last season the sorrel filly was third in the Wyoming Bred Futurity. She has compiled a (9) 1-3-3 record and earned $9,335.

The lightly raced Smoke N Fame held on for the second fastest time of :17.570 seconds, also a 93-speed index. Jockey Danny Marshall was aboard the Smoke N Sparks gelding who was making only this third career start.

Chad Giles trains the bay for owner Richard Dolbow. The Korell Family Trust bred Smoke N Fame from the Dash Ta Fame mare Kj Dasher.
