SELMA, TX—JUNE 24, 2017—Sarah Huskey's homebred FDP Rock Solid surged to a neck victory over Dm Mighty La Jolla in the $15,000 Ben E. Keith Stakes for Texas-bred 3-year-olds Saturday night at Retama Park.

Ridden by jockey Noe Villatoro, Fdp Rock Solid covered the 330 yards in a quick :16.742 clocking into an 8 mph crosswind to earn a 105 speed index.

Esteban Rubio conditions last year's TQHA Sires' Cup Futurity(RG3) and Black Gold 440 Championship Futurity(RG3) winner. With a (8) 5-1-1 record, the $9,450 Keith winners' purse boosted Fdp Rock Solid's earnings mark to $187,047.

Ms Huskey bred the Rock Solid Jess gelding from the Deltas First Dash mare First Down Payment.

Dm Mighty La Jolla flew late under jockey Dale Beaty to finish second. Kie Mushinski saddled the Mighty Corona gelding out Mary La Jolla by Streakin La Jolla. The homebred racing for Donna Mushinski picked up $2,550 for his effort.

Winner of the Starter Handicap on Retama Park's opening weekend this season, Turbo Bok earned $1,500 for third. Richard Washington conditions the Boknaai homebred for owner/breeder John Boegner. Ricardo Carza-Cruz was riding.

Thriving Ivory, Ivory and Rc Money Nuts completed the field.
