SELMA, TX—JUNE 25, 2016—My Moment Of Fame flew from the gate and widened to a three-quarter length win over Dash Dont Cheat in the $15,000 Ben E. Keith Stakes at Retama Park Saturday night.
Ridden by jockey Luis Vivanco, My Moment Of Fame completed the 330 yards in :16.775 seconds, a 105 speed index into a 3 mph headwind. It was the first career stakes win for the Angel Sanchez trainee who entered the race off a fourth place finish in the Grade 3 Sam Houston Derby in his last start.

Pete Scarmardo's multiple stakes-placed homebred Dash Dont Cheat earned $2,550 for finishing second. Leon Bard conditions the Down N Dash gelding out of Special Cheat, by Jess Special. Francisco Calderon was aboard the $93,748 earner.
Posttime favorite Scarface Cartel finished a head back in third for owner Kelly Perez. Santos Carrizales rode the son of The Louisiana Cartel who entered the Ben E. Keith off two straight allowance wins at Remington Park. Edelmiro Carrizales trains the Texas-bred from the Lil Bit Cuervo mare Time For Lilly. Bred by Jaime Torres, Scarface Cartel picked up $1,500 for the effort.
Bos Big Shamoon, Jess Ronas Dash and Shazooming Episode completed the field.
