Scoopies Leaving You Extends Streak to Three in Swift Stakes on Saturday

BOSSIER CITY, LA—JANUARY 30, 2016—The 5-year-old multiple stakes winner Scoopies Leaving You picked up his third consecutive stakes win, second this season, when he defeated Running Game Patriot in the $15,000 Swift Stakes at Louisiana Downs Saturday afternoon. The Eagle Express was third in a blanket finish.

Ridden by jockey Donald Watson Scoopies Leaving You shot out of the gate like a rocket while lugging toward the inside rail to win by a neck. The son of Coronas Leaving You covered the 350 yards in :17.990 seconds into a 15 mph crosswind.

Coming off a sensational season last year, when he won three of five stakes starts and finished in the money in the other two, the Kevin Broussard trainee has compiled a (24) 13-3-2 record. The $9,000 winner's purse boosted his career total to $213,780. Joel Galindo owns the Louisiana-bred from the Toast To Dash mare Ms Scoopies Toast. The brown horse kicked off his 2016 season with a win in the Harrah's Dash Stakes on January 9. Prior to that he won the Sam's Town Stakes at Evangeline Downs on December 19.

Dave Carrell saddled Running Game Patriot to his first black-type finish for owner Pete Scarmardo. S Bar S and Ryan Robicheaux bred the 4-year-old son of Game Patriot in Louisiana from the Eyesa Special mare Eyesa La Tac. He earned $3,000 for the effort.

Mary Thompson's The Eagle Express pressed throughout finishing a heck off the leaders and picking up $1,650 for his third place effort. Trainer Larry Kopycinski saddled the One Famous Eagle 5-year-old with Randy Edison getting the riding call. Bred in Texas by Clyde Wilmott, The Eagle Express is out of the stakes winning and multiple stakes producing Royal Quick Dash mare Rustys Quickid. He has earned nearly $82,000.

Completing the Swift field were All Out Arrogant, Cartel Arrangement, Msg Image Of Sixes, Bigtime Rose, Bjs Shining Jess, Riskee Chic and A Royal Country Man.
