BOSSIER CITY, LA—JANUARY 30, 2016—Four-year-old Little Blue Dove (16-1) recovered from an early bump to defeat long-shot Heza No Bay by half-a-length Saturday in the $25,000 Party Girl Stakes at Louisiana Downs. Post-time favorite Tf Eyes R Struttin finished a neck back in third.

Jockey David Alvarez rode Little Blue Dove to her first stakes victory for owner Arnoldo Gallegos. The daughter of multiple stakes sire Jess Louisiana Blue completed the 350 yards in :18.053 seconds on a fast track with a 15 mph crosswind. The $15,000 Party Girl winner's purse boosted the filly's earnings mark to $86,461.

Martin Gallegos saddled the sorrel miss to her fourth win in 14 career starts. Little Blue Dove entered the race off a seventh place finish in the $267,171 LQHBA Breeders' Derby at Evangeline Downs last November. She was also third in the Par-A-Dice Stakes at Delta last summer. Bred by Phil Guilbeau and Randy Morein, Little Blue Dove is from the Royal Quick Dash mare Hurried Connection.

Making her first career stakes appearance at the longest price in the field at 38-1, Heza No Bay got into her best stride late too late under jockey Jose Rodriguez and had to settle for second. Kevin Broussard conditions the Heza Fast Dash 4-year-old for owner Michael Richard. Bred by Connie Nobles, from the Reckless Dash mare Reckless Renee, Heza No Bay picked up $5,000 for the effort.

After getting bumped at the start, multiple stakes-winner Tf Eyes R Struttin did not have enough under jockey Raul Ramirez, Jr. and finished third to earn $2,750 for owner Louis Johnson, Jr. Lanny Keith trains the Struttin to Beduino mare out of Eyes R Special by Mr Eye Opener. Second on last year's Party Girl Stakes, the 5-year-old has won nine times from 24 starts and earned $184,385. Steve Tate is the breeder.

Fast Dashin Donna, Embrujo Star, Jet Black Presence, Bellas Leaving You, Patriot Sayin Adios, Clutch Corona and Wheres Mom completed the field.
