Margaritas N Coronas Returns to Northwest to Take Premier Stakes

BOISE, ID—MAY 23, 2015—Returning from a short stint to the West Coast earlier this year, multiple stakes winner held on gamely to defeat Time For Jesse Lee by a nose in the $10,700 Premier Stakes (not black-type) at Les Bois Park Saturday evening. Lil Bitts A Dash finished a head off the leaders in third.

Ridden by jockey Jose Figueroa, Margaritas N Coronas completed the 350 yards in :17.436 seconds, a 98-speed index, to garner his eighth career win. The $6,420 Premier winner's purse boosted the 5-year-old's earnings mark to nearly $110,000.

Bret Vickery conditions the Corona Czech Washington-bred from the Strawfly Special mare Fly Margaritas. Bred by Gregory and Renee Hickman, Margaritas N Coronas races for Robert C. Hickman. His record stands at (28) 8-6-3.

Also a multiple stakes winner, Time For Jesse Lee finished strong under jockey Nikeela Black. Monty Arrossa saddled the Mr Jess Lee 4-year-old for owner/breeder Jim Walker. The 11-time winner added $2,140 to bring his bankroll to $128,666. Time For Jesse Lee is an Idaho-bred from the Mescallero Chick mare Time For Noble.

A multiple stakes winner at Los Alamitos Race Course, Lil Bitts Of Dash races for owner/trainer David Newbold. Bred in Utah by Patterson Livestock, the Dashair 7-year-old was ridden by Luis Torres. A 13-time winner out of the Society Road mare A Lil Bitts, Lil Bitts A Dash has earned $92,886.

Completing the Premier field were Micato, Ss Paydirt, Ill Be A Dasher, Kr Streakin Version, Queens Prince Gol, Sign Of Corona and Tw Gunslinger.
