And there’s a couple other legendary women trying to work this event into their busy schedules.

Along with the management of Heritage Place, TRACK Magazine’s Ben Hudson created "An Evening With The Legends of American Quarter Horse Racing" in 2011. It has since become one of the year’s most popular events. This will be the fifth edition of this program that annually occurs on the evening before the first day of the Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale.

“When we first started working on this year’s program, I was concerned that we wouldn’t have enough women that would participate," Husson said. “I am overwhelmed at the acceptance that we have received from women across the country. We will certainly do another one of these (for women) in the not too distant future. We have a Hall Of Fame list of women that we did not get to invite for this year.”

To accommodate the racing scheduled at nearby Will Rogers Downs, this year’s Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale will be on Thursday (October 29) and Friday (October 30). The Legends event, which is normally on Thursday, this year will be on Wednesday since the sale is on Thursday and Friday.
