Dexxter Draws Post 4 for Grade 1, $200,000 Refrigerator Stakes

Dexxter Draws Post 4 for Grade 1, $200,000 Refrigerator Stakes

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—OCTOBER 19, 2020—Dexxter, a multiple Grade 1-winning 4-year-old son of Corona Cartel, leads a field of a dozen aged runners entered in Sunday’s 440-yard, $200,000 Refrigerator Stakes (G1) at Lone Star Park.

Trained by Monty Arrossa for owners Dunn Ranch and Valeriano Racing Stables LLC, Dexxter is coming off of a neck victory in the 440-yard, $125,000 All American Gold Cup (G1) at Ruidoso Downs on September 6.

The gelding has earned $221,162 from three starts this year, and his season record includes wins in the 400-yard, $68,000 Leo Stakes (G1) and 440-yard, $210,000 Debbie Schauf Remington Park Invitational Championship (G1), both at Remington Park.

Dexxter drew post 4 and will be ridden by James Flores.

Other prominent contenders include Eysa Jess Jumpn, a 4-year-old Heza Fast Dash mare who boasts a 11-race win streak, and Viva Le Don, a 4-year-old son of Rock Solid Jess with a three-race win streak.

Eysa Jess Jumpn is trained by Joel Huitron for owner Jose Estrada Quarter Horses, and he will be stretching out in distance off of his half-length victory in the 330-yard, $50,000 Flashy Hemp Stakes (R) for Louisiana-bred fillies and mares at Delta Downs on August 22.

Eysa Jess Jumpn’s win streak includes seven stakes victories in Louisiana and Texas. The mare drew post 12 and will be ridden by Pedro C. Espinosa.

Viva Le Don races for Rockin J Running Horses from the barn of trainer Tammy Kay Johnson. The gelding will be making his first start since August 29, when he scored a head victory in the 440-yard, $61,000 Bank of America Retama Championship Challenge at Retama Park.

Viva Le Don drew post 7 and will be ridden by Luis Vivanco.
