Flight Club Prevails Over Favorite To Win The BOA Evergreen Park Championship Challenge

GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALB–AUGUST 7, 2022–Flight Club wins his fourth consecutive stakes win Sunday afternoon in the $44,136 (US) Bank of America Evergreen Park Championship Challenge.

Flight Club, ridden by J. Botello, duels with post-time favorite Rowdysvision to the wire for a half-length victory, clocking a 94 speed index in :22.267 seconds against a 25 mph crosswind. The four-year-old son of Foose added $23,068 of the winner’s share to his bankroll and paid the betting spectators $8.50 to win on his 9/4 odds.

Flight Club has won 5 stakes races in his career, including the Century Mile Bonus Challenge and Old Timer Classic in 2022. The William Leech trained gelding has lit the board 10 out of 11 starts with $81,016 in lifetime earnings.

Bred by Steve D. Burns, DVM of California, Flight Club sold for $19,000 to his owner Charles. G. Stojan in the 2019 Los Alamitos Equine Sale. His dam is Seperate Flight by Separatist.

Runner-up Rowdysvision, under the guidance of Alfredo Amador, was favored to win the 440-yard stakes race, but came up short by 1/2-length clocking a 93 speed index in :22.267 seconds.

Trained by Misael Moreno, Rowdysvision has lit the board 12 of 15 starts with $69,746 in earnings. The son of TF Rowdy Lil Perry is owned and bred by Isaak Fehr of Mexico and is out of Vision My Corona by Sea Horse Corona. 

Coming in third was Getit Foose with Ricardo Moreno in the irons. Trained by William Leech, the 4-year-old son of Foose has 6 career wins with $44,761 in earnings. Charles G. Stojan also owns the Martha Wells bred gelding out of Getit Together by Separatist.
