OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 26, 2020—A field of 10 American Quarter Horses will go to post Sunday in the Grade 2, $60,000-added Bank of America Remington Park Challenge Stakes with Valiant Tiberias as the morning-line favorite at 5-2 odds.

A 4-year-old gelding owned by Sergio Holguin, Cliften Nielsen and Felix Rodriguez, trained by Wesley Giles and ridden by the reigning 2019 AQHA Champion Jockey James Flores, last raced on Dec. 29 when he was winning the Grade 1, $350,000 Championship at Sunland Park.

A son of multiple Grade 1 sire Valiant Hero, out of the Feature Mr Jess mare American Feature, has won six-of-12 starts lifetime, including the Grade 3, $154,750 Adequan Derby Championship at the Downs at Albuquerque in October and the $53,108 Ruidoso Derby Challenge this past summer.

Valiant Tiberias has only raced once at Remington Park in his career and didn’t show much, finishing sixth in a maiden race. He has earned $395,644 lifetime with three seconds and one third added to the six wins. This gelding has been a stellar purchase out of the 2017 Quarter Horse September Yearling Sale at Heritage Place for a mere $13,000.

Flores has been aboard for Valiant Tiberias’ last three stakes wins. The Bank of America Challenge will be contested at the classic 440-yard distance for Quarter Horses, 3-year-olds and older. This morning line choice has only won one race in four tries at that distance.

Here’s your field for Sunday’s ninth race of 10 on the card with odds, jockeys and trainers:
