VINTON, LA–APRIL 23, 2024–Eighty-five 2-year-olds, led by DM Nite Hawk, are entered in Saturday's 330-yard Old South Futurity trials at Delta Downs.

DM Nite Hawk is a sorrel son of the One Dashing Eagle stallion Hawkeye trained by Daniel Luna for owner Juan Servin.

An $8,000 purchase at last year's TQHA Yearling Sale in San Antonio, the colt has won one of two starts and has earned $26,862, and he is coming off of a fifth-place finish, two lengths behind winner DK Marney Jess, in the 300-yard, $398,000 Louisiana Downs Futurity (G2) on March 30.

DM Nite Hawk drew the rail post and will be ridden by Eleazar Hernandez in the eighth of nine trials.

Other prominent juveniles entered in Saturday's trials include Louisiana Downs Futurity finalists Gatlan and Voodoo Child SC. A gray son of Flying Cowboy 123 trained by Jose R. Espinosa for owner Party Tyme Racing, Gatlan was a $63,000 buy at last year's TQHA Yearling Sale. The gelding has won one of two outs and has banked $14,931, and he will be stretching out in distance off of his eighth-place finish in the Louisiana Downs Futurity.

Gatlan drew post 9 and will be ridden by Sabino Reyes in the first heat.

Voodoo Child SC also races for Party Tyme Racing from the barn of trainer Jose R. Espinosa, and the bay daughter of Kiss My Hocks is coming off of a 10th-place finish in the Louisiana Downs Futurity. The filly drew post 9 and will be ridden by Sabino Reyes in the third trial.

The 10 fastest qualifier from Saturday's Old South Futurity trials will meet in the $50,000-added final on May 18.
