Ten Races On Tap Saturday Night At Los Alamitos

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—APRIL 1, 2021—Ten races are on tap for Saturday night including six consecutive straightaway races during the latter part of the card at Los Alamitos. The program will also four races around the turn, which will make up the Early Pick Four.

Fans are also reminded that Los Alamitos will not race Easter Sunday night, but will be open during the daytime for simulcasting.

The card will include three for 2-year-old Quarter Horses plus an allowance test for also for Quarter Horses at 330 yards.

Top names in the allowance event include Abigail Kawananakoa’s AP A Special Takeoff, who raced in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Derby on February 13. The Favorite Cartel gelding won his trial to the Winter Derby in impressive fashion, as he finished the race strongly to win by 1-½ lengths.

His list of rivals will include Mike Casselman’s Rox Win, who ran second to Teller With Candy in the Corona Chick Handicap last year, and Oscar Valdez’s Racie, who ran third after showing good speed against recent 110-yard track record setter Teller Jazz MRL in an allowance test at 330 yards.

The juvenile events will include Butch and Stephanie Webb’s Resurrection Man, who promising when posting the fastest of 48 gate works on March 20. He’ll take on Ricardo Ramirez’s Chizum, who was purchased for $150,000 at the Ruidoso Yearling Sale last year. Resurrection Man and Chizum will be joined by six other freshman runners in the seventh race on Saturday.
