SUNLAND PARK, NM—MAY 1, 2019—One Corona Eagle, a gelded son of One Famous Eagle racing for Gene Bradley and Tod Bradley, is the 5-2 morning-line favorite in Sunday’s 300-yard, $324,120 West Texas Futurity (G2) at Sunland Park.

Trained by Trey Wood, One Corona Eagle is the fastest qualifier, as the sorrel gelding made his debut with a wire-to-wire, three-quarter length win in the eighth of 12 West Texas Futurity trials on April 12. One Corona Eagle was a $70,000 buy at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City.

One Corona Eagle drew post 7 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez. Other contenders include second-fastest qualifier Return Of Brown Eyes, a son of High Rate Of Return and a $35,500 purchase at last year’s Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. Trained by Jose Luis Muela for owners Diamond Racing Stables and U.S. Alliance Logistics LLC, the gelding is coming off of a 1 3/4-length victory in the seventh trial.

Return Of Brown Eyes drew post 4 and will be ridden by Sergio Becerra Jr.
